Living for Jesus TODAY
This is "Where I Wanna Be"
by Sharnessa Shelton

One of my absolute favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 9:26.

"So I run straight for the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches" (NLT).

The first time I read that I was SO moved and excited. I had heard the scriptures many times before about pressing on towards the goal, which is awesome, but this one takes it a step further. It's not only saying to run towards the goal, but to do so with "purpose in every step." WOW! What a challenge! Something I think we're guilty of, (including myself), is taking our time and lives for granted. We get tired, complacent, or wrapped up in the more superficial things in life and our days slip away faster and faster. But I really challenge you to strive to make each step of your life count.

Don't think life really starts once you're in high school, or graduated from high school, or in college, or married, or whatever is around the corner for you. God has a plan for you right now and is just waiting for you to ask Him what it is! I remember my Aunt Pat once said to me, "Sharni, to get as much as possible out of this season that you're in, when you wake up every morning, simply ask God, 'Ok Lord, what do you want to teach me today? How do you want to use me?'" It's SO simple! And yet I think it's easy to complicate things, but all Jesus is asking us to do is to take His hand, be in a daily relationship with Him, and follow Him one step at a time. ENJOY where He's got you at the moment. Don't always look to the future saying that then your life will begin. If you're in Jr. High or High School, don't think that's the time you waste 'til college! You're in a PRECIOUS season right now of learning, growth, and preparation! So don't waste it!!!!!!
